Operation Dignity provides shelter, transitional housing, and supportive services to help veterans and their families escape the crisis of homelessness and regain stability.
We operate 15 shelter beds and 91 transitional housing beds for veterans at three properties in Oakland, Alameda, and Berkeley.
On a given night, we keep more than 100 homeless veterans safe, off the street, and with access to nutritious food, peer support, and housing search services.
In FY16, we served 250 veterans who were homeless and more than 30 of their children.
83% of veterans in our transitional housing programs exited to permanent housing, ending their homelessness.
66% of those able to work maintained or started employment.
“Once I knew about Operation Dignity, I knew there was nothing to do but to check it out.”
