June 24th, 2019
It’s only June, and already it’s been a busy summer of volunteering at Dignity Commons, our veteran housing site in Alameda. We want to give a big shout-out to a few groups of volunteers who have come by recently and done great work:
Thanks to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 595 for coming on a chilly Saturday morning to install brand new lights on all seven buildings, plus the mailbox structure!
Thanks to Flexport for sending their team to garden, trim, and mulch! They did a great job cleaning up our flower beds for summer.
And thanks to the team at Google and HandsOn Bay Area for painting a lovely new mural and picking All. The. Weeds.
We so appreciate all those who volunteer their time to come out, flex their muscles and skills, and bring that feeling of home to the veterans we serve.
Thank you all!
